A data-driven focus helps guide teachers and school leaders to spend less time teaching their students what they already know, and more time on what their students need. It answers the questions, “How do I know if my students are learning? And if they aren’t, what do I do?” 

This course will assist in guiding educators on how to spend less time teaching students what they already know, and more time on what students need.

Objectives:

  1. Prioritize Data Responsiveness and Sustainability
  2. Identify Effective Data Systems
  3. Connection of Instructional Strategies to the Data
  4. Components of a Data Action Plan

Syllabus:

  1. Intro to Data Systems and Data Smart Goals 
  2. Create SMART data goals.
  3. Design action plan connected to SMART data goals. 
  4. Disaggregating the Data
  5. Implementing Schoolwide Data Systems
  6. Instructional Strategies to Accelerate School Improvement
  7. Success Strategies for Students Who’re Multiple Grades Behind
  8. Data-based Action Plan for SpEd / ESE Population 
  9. Connecting PD to Data
  10. Connecting Data to Parent Meetings
  11. Data-based Rewards Systems

Prerequisites:

There are no prerequisites to take this course.

  • This course can be taken on either a PC, Mac, or Chromebook.
